Welcome to Dear Arty! Here is a little bit more about me.

Hey there! I’m Heather, a 26-year-old Dutch girl living out my 2013 dream of starting a blog. Freshly graduated with an MSc in Geosciences as of June 2024, I’m currently navigating the rollercoaster that is post-grad life. Join me as I explore new adventures and (potential emotional breakdowns) in this exciting new chapter.

I’m all about the cozy life – think warm blankets, steaming mugs of tea and coffee, and the soft glow of fairy lights. Autumn (or fall, if that’s more your thing) is my absolute favourite season. Picture crisp leaves, rain on the windows, pumpkin-spiced everything, and evenings spent with a good book. Speaking of books, I adore reading all kinds – fantasy, romance, the classics, you name it. Pair that with a cozy board game or a movie night, and I’m in heaven.

I’m also a productivity enthusiast, but in a cozy way still. Spreadsheets? Love them. Budgets? Can’t live without them. Staying organised and financially responsible is my jam.

I reside in an old (and somewhat neglected) apartment from 1450 in the heart of an old city in the Netherlands with my partner. Our place is a work in progress, and I’m excited to share our makeover journey with you.

This website is my creative outlet and a space to share everything I love with anyone who’s interested. The nickname “Arty” came from my Danish partner, who found the Dutch pronunciation of Heather amusingly similar to “Hey Arthur.” Thankfully, he decided Arty was a more fitting nickname, and thus, Dear Arty was born.
